Exiles v The Heavy Rollers, 14 May 2000
Exiles scrape by in bad tempered fixture
I was absent on holiday for this fixture, but apparently it was marred
by the constant chunnerings of the certain Grumpy Old Rollers complaining
about the 40 Overs format "not proper Cricket..." etc. You'd think
they would have recalled the mauling they got playing proper Cricket when
last these two sides met. Rollers won the toss,
batted first against an incomplete Exiles team, were bowled out on the stroke
of tea and lost by 10 wickets with plenty of overs remaining. At least this
game wasn't so one-sided.
The scorebook is incomplete and ilegible in parts as usual, this is the
best I can give you in the circumstances:
